Having one central team making a launcher is better than having multiple game teams making multiple launchers or implementing identical features in their games. It also attempts to keep itself up to date, meaning that different game teams don’t have to spend time making new releases of their games in order to get new launcher features or bug fixes delivered. This means that there is typically only one installation of the launcher on your computer. The launcher is a separate binary that is shared among several of our games. The main purpose of the launcher is to centralize the development of these features so that the game teams can focus on what they’re best at: making games. It’s a splash screen that several of our games use, it provides some features for these games (see below). So, what is the “Paradox Launcher” anyway? I’ll try to answer some of them and bring more clarity on this topic today. We’ve seen a growing number of questions in the past few weeks as we’ve started to see the launcher deployed on more of our games. UPDATE: Razer Tartarus V2 causes game to crash since the new patch, installing from GoG because of the new patch now corrupts the launcher that the game will not run from launcher, I think it's really pathetic for hardware to completely make a game in operative which never ever had any issues what so ever before to all of a sudden now be a major issue with the launcher, I can however run the game direct from the stellaris.Hello! I’m Anders Törlind, Product Manager for the service we call the “Paradox Launcher”, as part of our Player Services team at Paradox Interactive. This is not GoG's problem, none of my other PI games have any issue running so this is Paradox Interactive's issue and their non-existent help for a game issue they caused and their response has been useless and leads to frustrated disappointment. So, if it's not fixed in the next few weeks, I'll be asking for a full product refund back to my bank and will never own a working copy of the game, sad really because I like the game and wish to play it. I spent 2 days going over and running all of them but guess which is the ONLY game that refuses to run, yeah Stellaris after the 3.3.2 update and everything they suggested I do did not work at all and when they get to the notion of pulling out peripherals to make a game run, I was like WOW that's your great solution, why should I have to when this was never an issue before. Yet from the many forums since 3.3.2 patch, it has been a sheer nightmare for some of us trying to even get the game to run, in my dxdiag this is repeated over and over nearly 10 times I've paid quite a fair bit of money $$$ for this product and they refuse to even acknowledge there is a problem to even want to fix it. Since the previous and new update, the game doesn't even run, CTD within a second of starting, I have had the informal pleasure of dealing with their help and well nothing they suggested worked what so ever, when I try to reinstall the game, it fails at 97% then I have to restart the GoG client, repair/verify and then it installs the rest of the game, but that doesn't fix the issue.
